OJT is every student's chance to test what they have learned from school and hopefully, a chance to learn outside the four corners of the school. In preparation for this season, I have sent 20++ copies of my resume to different companies. I have been applying through the net and walk-ins. I have been interviewed a few times already. haha! :D
What I am experiencing now is just the tip of the iceberg of reality. Back then, the Internet is not widely used by the jobseekers to look for prospective employers. The classified ads section of the daily paper is so essential for every tambay. Job hunters would bring the classified ads with them while they push their luck with the different companies. The lucky ones could already throw the papers when they got hired. But the unfortunate ones would bring out their red ballpens and cross out the ads from the companies with super strict guards and the HR officers with fake smiles :))
Today is very much different from the past. Nowadays, there are sites dedicated for those who don't want to go out their houses but still want to be at par with the tambays applying in person. Of course, the advantage of applying through the net is that jobseekers who apply online spend nothing but internet connectivity. Online application would also save time and energy that can be diverted to more significant things in life like FAMILY. This is how the internet is helping us,jobseekers!
